Stephanie Marriott

Midwife Advisor
Stephanie Marriott joined ICM in 2024. As a midwife advisor, Steph is responsible for providing technical guidance relating to all elements of the ICMs’ professional framework. This guidance contributes to the strengthening of midwives, midwife associations and the models of care midwives work in; therefore improving the health and social outcomes of women, newborns and their families.
Prior to joining ICM, Steph initially worked as a midwife in the UK with a focus on continuity of care models and safeguarding and also worked as a Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) supporting midwives. Subsequently she worked as a lecturer in midwifery before transitioning to work in global health, where she worked across Asia and Africa with non-governmental organisations. This work focused on facilitating enabling environments for midwives to work to their full scope of practice and thus, ensuring the provision of respectful sexual and reproductive healthcare to women in humanitarian and fragile settings.
Steph graduated as a midwife in 2012 from the University of York in the UK and she also holds a Masters of Public Health, specialising in sexual and reproductive health and rights, from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Beyond her professional duties, Steph values the opportunity to gain global cultural insights as part of her role.
