Paridhi Jha

Paridhi Jha was elected as the South-East Asia Regional Board Member (RBM) in June 2026. As a Regional Board Member, Paridhi is responsible for sharing experiences from her region and steering the Board in meeting its strategic and governance responsibilities with a global focus, together with the other Regional Board Members. The Regional Board Member is a spokesperson for ICM in regional strategic partnerships and at national meetings and events for ICM’s member associations in the region.

Dr Paridhi Jha is a midwife, researcher and educator with more than 15 years of experience in clinical midwifery care, maternal and newborn health, research, evidence generation and advocacy for midwifery models of care.

Paridhi is Deputy Director and Assistant Professor at the Centre for Inter-disciplinary Research at DY Patil University in Navi Mumbai, India. She holds a Master’s degree in Gynaecological Nursing and Midwifery from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and a PhD from the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Uppsala University in Sweden.

Paridhi previously served for five years as Executive Director of the Foundation for Research in Health Systems, a not-for-profit research organisation based in Bengaluru. Between 2020 and 2025, she contributed to national and international advisory bodies for the World Health Organization, ICM and the Government of India. Her areas of expertise included midwifery models of care, delayed cord clamping and respectful maternity care.

Paridhi believes that midwives who are educated to ICM standards and empowered to practise are essential to providing safe, sensitive and inclusive care. As Regional Board Member, she is committed to advancing midwifery models of care and strengthening midwives and their professional associations throughout South-East Asia.
