Midwives’ Experiences and Perspectives on Climate Change – Survey

3 May 2024

In honour of the International Day of the Midwife, celebrated under the theme “Midwives: A Vital Climate Solution,” the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) and Human Rights Watch (HRW) are embarking on a journey to amplify your voices and experiences. We are launching a survey designed to delve into the intersection of midwifery and climate change.

About the survey:

This survey aims to get insights into how midwives are experiencing the climate crisis impact on the health and wellbeing of women, gender diverse people, newborns, and the communities they serve. It also seeks to understand the ways midwives are already adjusting to and being impacted by climate change.

Time: It should take 10-15 minutes to complete

IMPORTANT: By taking this survey, you agree to let HRW and ICM use the information you provide for advocacy materials, such as short reports, press releases, social media posts, and Op-Eds. We will anonymize all data we use and if you provide your name and email this information will not be shared. Any use of the information you provide will be solely for non-profit purposes. Data will be securely stored and deleted after two years, and we will never share your data or contact information with anyone else.

Why Your Voice Matters:

As frontline caregivers, midwives witness firsthand the profound impact of climate change on the health and wellbeing of women, gender diverse individuals, newborns, and the communities they serve. Your insights are essential in understanding the challenges you face and the innovative solutions you employ in response to this global crisis.

Take Action:

Your voice matters! We urge you to take a moment to complete the survey and share it with your fellow midwives who can provide additional insights. Together, we can pave the way for a healthier, more sustainable future for all.
