Midwifing the Midwife: Key Elements to Scaling Up and Sustaining our Workforce
In celebration of International Day of the Midwife 2024, GOLD Learning is excited to welcome Midwife Ginger Breedlove as she shares her new presentation titled “Midwifing the Midwife: Key Elements to Scaling Up and Sustaining our Workforce”. Dr. Breedlove is a past president of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and has led many national initiatives to address and improve perinatal health in the United States. She is a widely published author in numerous journals and publications, national speaker, and has received over $5 million dollars as principal investigator in grant funded projects related to healthcare for women. In 2017 she co-founded March for Moms with Dr. Neel Shah and serves as President.
Barriers to accessible, affordable and respectful midwifery practice exist in every country. These barriers inevitably reduce the ability for midwives to provide their full scope of care and can impact the scaling up or sustainability of the workforce. If you’ve ever felt frustration about this or wondered “What can I do?”, then this presentation is for you! Dr. Breedlove will be guiding midwives to critically evaluate the process of self-preparedness in order to scale up and sustain the profession. Practical suggestions will be provided to “midwife the midwife” beyond clinical expertise toward a voice and champion for change. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to expand your knowledge live on May 1st, 2024!
