Alliance to Improve Midwifery Education (AIME): Developing Competent Midwives
Principles and approaches to Recognition of Prior Learning within pre-service Midwifery education
This 3 part mini webinar series, hosted by ICM under the collective banner of AIME (Alliance to Improve Midwifery Education) will bring together midwifery educators and other key stakeholders to share cross-country learning on approaches to strengthening midwifery education. The ICM will share the updated 2024 Essential Competencies for Midwifery Practice, their role in strengthening midwifery practice, education and developing competent midwives.
The series will discuss how educators can utilise ICM/UNFPA tools and resources to develop competent midwives and a competency-based curriculum. The final webinar will discuss approaches for assimilating evidence of prior learning for midwifery students and how this can be recognised and incorporated into pre-service midwifery programmes. We encourage attendees to familiarise themselves with the resources and documents via the booking process prior to attending.
