Board Briefer: September 2020
BOARD BRIEFER
September 2020
Greetings from the Board!
September is upon us and with it another busy time of focused energy for the Board members. The meeting this month was jam packed with items which all became equally important through our robust discussions. For many of us as midwives across the globe, there never seems to be enough time to fit it all in! However, forward we go, steadfast in our commitment to working to thoughtfully represent you and thus the women and families we serve.
We actively discussed plans for the upcoming regional meetings that we are all looking forward to. We also worked towards finalizing the agenda to productively use the four-day Board meeting time together in October where we will focus on governance skills. We discussed the transition of ICM’s activities from the Year of the Midwife into the decade of the Midwife, specifically how we can become the voice of midwives with women as we move into the last decade of the SDG’s.
The journey continues in fellowship as we learn and bond along the path!
Kind Regards,
Pandora Hardtman – ICM Board Member representing North America and the Caribbean sub-Region
Hilma Shikwambi – ICM Board Member Representing Anglophone Africa sub-Region
