Midwives in a Changing Climate: Centering SRHR in Climate and Humanitarian Action

19 August 2025 @ 15:00 CEST
Online
Hosted By: ICM

As climate change intensifies and humanitarian crises grow more frequent, midwives are at the forefront, delivering life-saving sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and family planning (FP) services in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

This timely and solution-focused webinar, brought to you by the ICFP Environment & Climate Change Subcommittee in collaboration with the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), will spotlight midwives’ leadership, lived experiences, and the critical intersections between climate change, crisis response, and SRHR. It will also explore how stronger collaboration across sectors can support more resilient, equitable, and rights-based health systems.

What to Expect
  • Explore the connections between climate change, sustainability, and SRHR—and their impact on health systems and community resilience
  • Recognize the critical role of midwives in climate-vulnerable and humanitarian settings
  • Learn from best practices and real-world experiences shared by midwives and frontline programs
  • Strengthen cross-sector collaboration across climate, humanitarian, and SRHR fields
  • Identify opportunities for advocacy and policy action aligned with FP2030, the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), and ICFP

If you’re working at the intersection of health, climate, and equity, this conversation is for you.

Let’s build a more inclusive and resilient future together.

The event will have interpretation in French and Spanish.
