The 2026 ICM Triennial Council will take place from 10-12 June 2026 in Lisbon, just days ahead of the Triennial Congress.
Council Meetings are a core component of ICM’s internal governance structure and represent the highest decision-making authority of the Confederation. During the Council Meetings, Member Associations review progress, discuss strategic priorities, and approve key documents.
Among other key agenda items, the 2026-2029 ICM Board elections will be held as part of the 2026 Triennial Council in Lisbon.
Participation in the Triennial Council
Please note: this event is separate from the 34th Triennial Congress. Participation in the Triennial Council is limited to members of ICM Member Associations and requires prior registration.
Registration Categories & Deadlines
Participation in the Triennial Council Meeting is open to two types of representatives from ICM Member Associations:
- Council Delegates
- Council Observers

Nomination Process
Council Delegates and Observers must be formally nominated by the President of their Member Association (or equivalent).
If you are interested in participating, please contact your Member Association President directly.
If your Member Association President has not yet received the nomination forms, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible.
Important:
Only Council Delegates nominated by 15 April 2026 will be eligible to vote in the Regional Board Member elections, which will take place online before the in-person Council meeting.
Council Platform
Council Delegates will receive access to the online Council Platform, where Council papers and other information about the meeting will be available from 29 April 2026.
