Midwife-nurse and researcher, Kaveri Mayra, in a recent article from Economic & Political Weekly, highlights how patriarchal and societal conditioning have prioritised medicine over nursing and midwifery. Mayara believes this prioritisation has created unjust, unequal, and exploitative relationships between doctors and professionals in our community.
