What Does a MIDIRS Subscription Offer?
A MIDIRS subscription provides access to a vast collection of evidence, expertise, and practical resources designed to support midwives in their professional development and daily practice. Subscribers receive:
- An online copy of MIDIRS Midwifery Digest emailed to you four times a year – MIDIRS Midwifery Digest covers topics of midwifery and education, pregnancy, labour and birth, postnatal, and neonatal and infant feeding. Articles are a mixture of reflection, service improvements, anatomy and physiology, and original research.

The database contains over 340,000 publications and more articles are added on a daily basis. You can access this database 24 hours a day, seven days a week from your phone or computer. Any article that is freely available online or has been published in MIDIRS Midwifery Digest can be accessed in full.
- Latest Research Updates accessible on your MIDIRS portal – each week, a MIDIRS Librarian highlights recently published articles and puts them together in an easy-to- read newsletter, so you can stay up to date!

Access to up-to-date, evidence-based information is essential for midwives to provide high-quality care, stay informed on the latest research, and continuously improve their practice to better support women, newborns, and families. That’s why the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) has partnered with the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and Midwives Information & Resource Service (MIDIRS) to offer midwives around the world access to MIDIRS resources at discounted prices when subscribing through their education or hospital institution, or midwifery association.
Recognising the challenges midwives in some countries face with international payments, MIDIRS has made this offer more accessible through institutional subscriptions, ensuring midwives worldwide can benefit from this invaluable resource.
