Vacancy: Chief Midwife
ICM envisions a world where every childbearing woman has access to a midwife’s care for herself and her newborn.
To strengthen Midwives Associations and to advance the profession of midwifery globally by promoting autonomous midwives as the most appropriate caregivers for childbearing woman and in keeping birth normal, in order to enhance the reproductive health of women, and the health of their newborns and their families.
Purpose and Scope of the position
The Chief Midwife is a pivotal role for ICM as the figurehead for ICM’s midwifery expertise and policy positions. The Chief Midwife will be expected to represent the interests of midwives around the world, raising the profile of the profession and highlighting the significant benefits of a well-resourced, educated, regulated and enabled midwifery workforce.
Location: ICM office in the Hague or home-based, with occasional travel to the ICM office.
Remuneration: Competitive/negotiable subject to experience and availability of funding.
