SOWMY Report: Delivering Health, Saving Lives

The first report to explore the state of midwifery practices across the globe, entitled the State of the World's Midwifery: Delivering Health, Saving Lives, was launched on 20 June 2011 at the ICM Congress in Durban, South Africa. 

The first report to explore the state of midwifery practices across the globe, entitled the State of the World's Midwifery 2011: Delivering Health, Saving Lives, was launched on 20 June 2011 at the ICM Congress in Durban, Africa.

The report, supported by 30 partners, provides proof of the global shortage of midwives around the world. It offers new information and data gathered from 58 countries across all regions and aims to help strengthen the practice of midwifery around the world.
